About Us
Velodrome Coffee Company was founded by Brice Sturmer in 2017 in an 800 sq ft shop at 519 West Washington in Marquette. The brand was founded on the motto FAST | SIMPLE | FRESH and sources only single farm coffees through personal connections with coffee farmers in Papua New Guinea, Nicaragua, Colombia, Guatemala, and Costa Rica. Velodrome Coffee Company now employs a staff of 28 and services and supplies dozens of businesses across the Upper Peninsula and Northern Michigan. Velodrome can be found on the shelves of most local grocery stores and Meijer stores across Michigan.
Bought by MQT Hospitality Inc. in July of 2024, the company continues to extend the original brand vision under the ownership of Matthew Beardsley, Erin Bearsley and Iver Johnson.
Ok, but really, what’s our deal?
We love our home in the Upper Peninsula, great coffee, and fast bikes! We’re honored to live in an area with so much rich history and craftsmanship. It’s what drives us to bring excellence to your cup every morning. In addition to history and craft, the U.P. is also home to many styles of cycling. We’re proud to sponsor and participate in local bike events and communities, including UPCross and 906 Adventure Team. You can often find us out on the trails or serving coffee at the local races.
